Hello! It's been a minute... I would like to apologize for not handling the announcement of my indefinite hiatus as gracefully as I should have. Thank you to those who continued to check back. Greetings to those who discovered the comic during this time. Welcome to anyone finding it now for the first time. I had never wanted to leave the comic for so long.
Some of you may recall that I was having a harder and harder time keeping up with the comic schedule due to pain in my hand and wrist, and the fact of the matter is, the status of my hand has not changed. This is the reason for the asterisk:
* Regular comic updates will initially be posted as pencils only (plus lettering).
The plan is to post completed inked and shaded comics in chapter blocks when I am able to finish them, but there are no guarantees as to how long that will take. Pencils, I feel I can reliably produce. Inks I cannot. I have made fonts from my lettering so my hand will be saved from that part at least. I did explore the idea of switching to a sort of prose format, but Xylobone Tomes is not a novel. It is a comic. And so this seems to me the best solution for being able to continue the story in its intended form.
I realize the visuals will suffer much as unfinished pages, and I will announce here and on social media when completed chapters are posted if you would prefer to wait until the art is finished to read the updates. Additionally, the images on the Archive page will provide a quick reference to which chapters have completed art.
Thank you for reading.
(Oh, and bonus content updates have also resumed on Patreon!)
